Heat dissipation is key
One of the most unique features of our Alfin® brake drums is the cooling fins machined into the outside circumference of the aluminium body.
These fins work as heat sinks, maximizing the surface area in contact with the air and therefore cooling the brake drum far more efficiently.
This is especially important in competition cars as brake fade is significantly reduced.
We can design and manufacture a vast range of different fin types and variations. However most are usually categorised as one of four types below:
